Most famous for his role as Marshal Matt Dillon, James Arness has enjoyed a long and rewarding career in Hollywood--a career that has spanned five decades.

Born May 26, 1923, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the 6'4" Arness would appear in more than 40 films and appear on countless television programs as a leading man, supporting actor, or walk-on character.

He appeared in several television programs and a movie with his brother, Peter Graves, of Mission:Impossible fame.
